Obituary

Anthony P. Vettraino 90, of Carmel Terrace Framingham and formerly of Natick and Wayland died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at St. Patrick Manor in Framingham.

He was the beloved husband of the late Joyce (Garratt) Vettraino, M.D. who died in 1995.

Born in Boston he was the son of the late Filippo and Angelina (Rizzo) Vettraino.

Mr. Vettraino was employed by the City of Boston for 35 years as a Social Worker at Boston City Hospital.

He was a graduate of Boston College class of 1943 and received his Masters Degree in Social Work from Boston College in 1947.

Mr. Vettraino was a devout member of St. Patrick Parish and active in many Parish Associations including the Saint Vincent DePaul Society, Knights of Columbus and was a longtime volunteer at the Advocates, Inc. of Framingham.

He enjoyed college sports especially Boston College football and in his earlier years played golf.

He cherished his family and was devoted to the care of his wife during her illness.
He is survived by two children, Philip Vettraino of Hudson, Jennifer Keen of Holliston, two grandchildren Laura Hope Keen and Jason Graham Keen and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Phyllis Laurie, Margaret Caruso, Rosa D'Amico, and Maria Vettraino.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Monday, May 6, at 9:00 A.M. from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in St. Patrick’s Church Natick.

Visiting hours are Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Interment St. Michaels Cemetery Boston.
