CATAUMET - Charles R. Moore, 86, of Cataumet, formerly of Bridgewater, died Monday at the Bourne Manor Nursing Home after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Evelyn F. (Richmond) Moore.
Born Feb. 7, 1918, in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late James R. and Bertha M. (Smith) Moore.
He was raised and educated in Bridgewater and was a former Bridgewater Police Officer.
Mr. Moore served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a supervisor at George O. Jenkins Company in Bridgewater for 30 years.
Mr. Moore enjoyed feeding the birds and yard work.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan A. Von Malder of Cataumet; his son, Scott R. Moore of Pocasset; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was brother of the late James “Ken” Moore and William Churchill.
His funeral services private. Arrangements are by Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater.
