Obituary

Frances Veronica (Hutchins ) Kelso Emmert, 93, of Salem, NH died Tuesday, March 5th at Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH,

She was born in Amesbury, Massachusetts on July 24, 1919, the daughter of the late Mary (Snow) and John Hutchins. Frances grew up in Merrimac, Massachusetts with her parents and several brothers and sisters, Florence Welch, Harriet Cooke, Mary Baxter, Winifred Bergeron, John “Jack “ Hutchins of Dover, NH, Catherine Comley of FL, and Albert Hutchins. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Emmert.

She is survived by her son, Edward Kelso of Salisbury, MA, two grandchildren, Korey Kelso and his wife Sara, of Portland, OR and Brett Kelso of Salisbury, MA, stepdaughter, Susan Scott and her husband Mike of Wisconsin, stepson, Richard Emmert of Salem, NH and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances always looked forward to the family reunion which was held once a year at her home in Salem for years, and most loved visiting with relatives and friends who attended the reunion.

She has also dated her family back in an unbroken line to her 18th great grandfather John Hutchinson, born in 1308 Cowlam, England. Her first relative that came to the Americas in the early 1600s through Kennebunkport, Maine was Enoch Hutchings Jr. who was killed at the front door of his Garrison home in an Indian attack in 1698 in Kittery, Maine

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 10th at 1:00 PM at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, No. Salem, NH. Arrangements are under the care of Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
