AGAWAM – Joseph M. Bocchino, 90, a former resident of East Springfield passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 with his loving family by his side. Born in Springfield on January 26, 1923, he was the son of Antonio and Carmela (Settembre) Bocchino. During his younger years, Joe worked at the Sunoco Station in the South End and later was a self-employed tile setter. Joe enjoyed bowling, playing cards, gardening and visiting with his neighbors. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary (Hondros) Bocchino. He leaves his loving daughters, Nancy Suchak and her husband, Raymond, of West Springfield, Carol Domaingue and her husband, Al, of Agawam with whom he lived, Camellia Bloch and her husband, Gary, of Hull and Christine Lapointe and her husband, Rock, of Palmer; his cherished grandchildren, Brian Suchak and his wife, Rebecca, Michelle Suchak and her fiancé, Eric, Jennifer Nicosia, Michael Domaingue and his wife, Kara, Stefanie Falzone and her husband, Bill, and Jonathan Bloch; his cherished great-grandchildren, Chance, Julia, Emma, Camden, Grant, Hadley and Grace; his sister-in-law, Louise Bocchino of Wells, ME; his dear nephews, nieces and his special friends, Charlie, Virginia and Mary. His brothers Alfred, Albert, and Alphonse predeceased him. Special thanks to Dr. Francis Murray, Patti and staff and Stephanie and Brenda from Mercy Home Care. His funeral will be held on Monday morning, May 6, 2013 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 9:30 a.m.), followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. in Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2320 Main Street, Springfield, MA 01107. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA 01109.
