Josephine “Sherrill” N. (Cavaca) Furtado, 77, a Native of Tiverton passed away April 15, 2013 after a long illness, she was surrounded by her loving family. Wife of the late Joseph R. Furtado and the daughter of late Frank Cavaca and Josephine E. (Pierce) Cavaca. She worked at the Fall River Jewish Home for many years.
She was mother to the late Lauren (Furtado) Atwood and sister to the late Bruce Cavaca. Survived by her son-in-law Robert Atwood and her daughters Sandra L. Furtado, Melissa M. (Furtado)and her husband Timothy P Nestor, Melanie J. Furtado and son Michael and his wife Kelly Furtado. Grandchildren Patricia L. Atwood, Ryan J. and Tyler P. Nestor, Taylor N and Dylan J. Furtado. Sisters Pearl Beaulieu, Gwen Cavaca, Donna Smith, Linda Langlais, Joan Almeida, Faye Costa, Ann Dale Lachapelle and brother James Cavaca and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held in the First Baptist Old Stone Church, 7 Old Stone Church Rd, Tiverton on SATURDAY at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Pleasantview Cemetery, Tiverton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the ASPCA.
