George Thomas “Tom” Knowles, Jr., age 87, of Douglas, GA passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Big Springs Nursing Home, in Huntsville, AL following an extended illness. Mr. Knowles was born on August 22, 1925, in Broxton, GA to the late George Thomas Knowles, Sr. and Ethel Butler Knowles, Sr.
Survivors include: his son: Andy (Melinda) Knowles, of Raleigh, NC, daughter: Lucy (Steve) Matthews, of Huntsville, AL, sister: Grace Lee, of Bickley, GA, six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 7-9 pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Elick Bullington and Rev. Benji Vernell officiating. Interment will follow at Broxton City Cemetery.
