WARREN, CHRISTINE HEIL, 94, passed away April 27, 2013 at Summerfield Nursing Home.
She retired from General Electric where she was the first female jitney driver. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, two grandsons, and a son-in-law and is finally in the arms of her loving husband of 65 years, Robert "Ike" Warren. She is survived by two sons, Bob (Carol) and Denny (Joyce); two daughters, Joyce Wheeler and Darlene Hayden (Frank); brother-in-law, Don Warren; sister-in-law, Lenore Perry of Miami, FL; nine grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. A special thanks to Dr. Jane Cornett and the staff at Summerfield and her special angel Carol. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens (West). Visitation will be Wednesday, 5-8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Thursday.
