Jeanne A. (Desjeunes) Altman, 90, of New Bedford died Sunday April 28, 2013. She was the wife of the late Thomas G. Altman.
Born in Acushnet, the daughter of the late Ernest and Jennie (Martel) Desjeunes, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Altman was a communicant of the former Sacred Heart Church.
She enjoyed knitting, cooking, dancing, and raising her children.
Survivors include five children, Robert Desjeunes, Prudence Goyette, Donna Manning, and Cookie Altman, all of New Bedford, and Robin Sherman of Rochester; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Achiel, Wayne and George Altman, and sister of the late Paul, Gilbert, Bertram, Henry and Prudence Desjeunes.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford Friday, May 3rd at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, May 2nd from 4-8 PM.
