Samuel B. Funk Jr., age 86, passed away on Friday April 26, 2013 at the
Tobey Hospital in Wareham after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Jean (Hansen) Funk and is survived by his children, Sandra Kowalski and her husband Henry of Abington, Judith Kingston and her husband Ross of Maine, Patricia Batson and her husband Thomas of Abington and Samuel B. Funk III and his wife Valjean of California. Samuel also leaves 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Sam was born in Peoria, IL and lived in Abington 50 years before becoming a resident of Carver. He was a Machinist for Proctor and Gamble for 38 years. Samuel served his country in the Marines on board the S.S. Macon during World War II and was discharged at the South Weymouth Naval Air Station.
