Daniel J. Feeney, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life suddenly on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 58 years old.
Danny was born in Boston on September 20, 1954, a son of the late John Feeney and Mary C. (McCrevan) Feeney. He grew up in Charlestown where he attended Boston Public Schools and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1974. He enlisted into the United States Army on January 31, 1975 and served his country with pride and honor. He was discharged on June 11, 1976 with the rank of private. Danny worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 10 years.
Danny is the devoted father of Daniel J. Feeney Jr. of Medford, Michael P. Feeney of Medford and John M. Feeney of Charlestown. He is the former husband of Patricia (Tkachuk) Feeney. He is the dear friend of the late Marie Castor. He is the beloved brother of Mary Miele of Charlestown, Patricia Feeney of Maine, James Feeney of Charlestown, Kathleen Boutwell of Charlestown, Michael Feeney of Charlestown and the late Boston Firefighter John "Al" Feeney and the late Boston Firefighter William Feeney. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Danny's Funeral on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown followed by his Funeral Mass in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown at 10 A.M. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
