Obituary

Roland A. Riendeau 85, of 429 Albion Rd. formerly of Knollwood Dr. in Woonsocket, died Thursday at Philip Hulitar Center. He was the husband of Theresa (Campopiano) Riendeau. Born in Brownington, VT, he was a son of the late Peter and Yvonne (Vincent) Riendeau. Roland was a graduate of Mt St. Charles Academy and RI School of Design. He was a WWII Army Veteran. Roland was the co-owner and operator of Pickering and Riendeau Painting Contractors for thirty five years, before retiring twenty one years ago. He was a former member and treasurer of Club Lafayette. He enjoyed visiting the Lake region of New Hampshire. He was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be sadly missed by all.

He is survived by his son, Robert Riendeau and his wife Catherine of Westerly, his daughter, Susan Girard and her husband Wayne of Chepachet, a sister Rita Vanhouwe of Cranston, four grandchildren, Peter and Michael Riendeau, and Anthony and Richard Girard, and seven great-grandchildren, Juliette, Emily, Michael, Anthony, Zachary, Molly, and Taylor. He was also the brother of the late Florence Bernier.

His funeral with visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:00 -10:00 AM at the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery in Blackstone.
