Anita L. (Sala) Quagge age 91 of Brockton, died Thursday April 25, 2013 after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Philip R. Quagge who died in 1986. Anita was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Charles and Susan (Malagutti) Sala and remained a lifelong resident of the city. A 1940 graduate of Brockton High School, Anita married her high school sweetheart Philip when he returned home from WWII.
Anita was a homemaker devoted to her home and family. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, decorating her home and shopping. She loved Saturday night dances with her husband and playing poker with their friends. She will be remembered as a terrific Italian cook who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. A longtime communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, she had also belonged to the Old Colony Y.
Anita is survived by her three loving children Paula Waldt of Montgomery Village, MD; Paul Quagge and his wife Denise of Mesa, AZ and Peter Quagge and his wife Michele of Bridgewater. She was the cherished grandmother of Brianne and Ryan Waldt, Patrick, Cameron, Camden, Faren and the late Austen Quagge. Anita was also the sister of the late Arlene Thebarge and George and Charles Sala.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton on Tuesday 9-10 am followed by a funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:30 am.
