Perpetua A. (Andrade) Lopes, 98, of North Port, Florida passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday April 23, 2013. She was the wife of the late Augusto M. Lopes.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the daughter of the late Geraldo and Maria (daVeiga) deAndrade, she lived in New Bedford for many years before moving to Florida 13 years ago to live with her son and daughter-in-law.
She is survived by three children, Augusto Lopes, Jr. and his wife Marilyn, Geraldo Lopes, and Eva Rodrigues; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 47 South Sixth St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
