Mr. Mario Feola,82 of Medford died Monday in the Wilmington Health Care Center. He was the husband of Teresa (Fiorentino) Feola with whom he shared more than 63 years of marriage.
Born and educated in Italy, son of the late Agostino and Fiorita (Rosa) Feola, he and his family emigrated from Italy to the United States in 1970 and settled in Medford. He has been a resident of the city ever since.
As a young man, he spent time in both Italy and Venezuela where he worked on a farm and in later years was an owner operator truck driver. When he arrived here he was employed by Schraffts Candy in Charlestown and later with Necco Candy of Cambridge. More recently he worked as a metal worker for Mystic Valley Foundry of Somerville.
He loved to hunt and fish, he was an excellent gardener, he also made his own wine. He enjoyed playing cards, travelling and spending quality time with his wife, children, grandchildren and his great granddaughter.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons: Agostino Feola of Medford, Fiore Feola and his wife Joyce of Andover, 4 grandchildren, Bianca, Mark, Gianni and Marisa, a great granddaughter Eliana. Dear brother of Fiorita Tammaro of NJ, Rosetta Imbriano, Alessandro and Aldo Feola all of Italy and the late Immacolata Oliviero, Cirago and Pietro Feola. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 through 8 p.m. at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street Medford, Monday at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
