Obituary

Muriel M. Witte, 91, of Londonderry, died Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Parkland Medical Center in Derry. She was born September 3, 1921 in Newfoundland, Canada, and was a daughter of the late Albert and Agnes (MacLachlan) Hann. She was raised and educated in the Winchester-Medford, MA area. She married her second husband, William Witte in 1969, and moved to Sea Girt, NJ where she resided for 25 years, prior to relocating to Londonderry in 1994.

Muriel loved decorating and furnishing miniature dollhouses, which her husband built. She was also an accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed ceramics. She will long be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and confirmed cat lover.

Members of the family include two daughters, Sandra L. Patten of Londonderry, and Nancy G. Woodworth and her husband Calvin of Wareham, MA, a son Philip A. Poehler, and his wife Susan of Loudon, NH, four grandchildren, David Patten and wife Kathy, Christine Mills and her husband Nicholas, Laura Hart and her husband Robert and William Woodworth, and four great grandchildren, Alex Patten, Nicky Mills, Amanda Mills and Elizabeth Hart. She was predeceased by her husband William Witte, two brothers, Leslie J. and Alan Hann, a granddaughter, Gretchen Woodworth, and a son-in-law, John Patten.

After cremation, a graveside service will be held Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11:00 am at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Bedford Street, Burlington, MA. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of the United States, Dept. HACDQ100904001, 2100 L Street, NW, Washington, DC 20037.
