John G. Imhof, 87, of Poinciana, FL died Sunday April 21, 2013. He was the husband of Lillian S. (Zielinski) Imhof.
Born in Jersey City, NJ, the son of the late Conrad and Anna (Munch) Imhof, he resided in New Jersey for most of his life, before retiring to Centerville, MA and later to Florida.
Mr. Imhof was formerly employed as a Lieutenant with the Paramus, NJ Police Department until his retirement.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy with the Scouts and Raiders which later became the Navy Seals. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks in Hyannis, MA.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian; his daughter, Joan Rieger and her husband William; his grandchildren, Stephanie Brown and Christopher Rieger; and his great-grandchildren, Jonathon and Alexandra Rieger.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9 AM at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
