John C. Furtado, age 91 of Somerset passed away April 23, 2013. He was the husband of Margaret (Faria) Furtado and son of the late Jacinto C. and Rose (DaPonte) Furtado. John had worked as a production foreman at Bee Fiberglass Co. for over 30 years. He was a WWII US Army veteran and a parishioner of St. John of God Church.
John was the father of John C. Furtado, Jr. (wife Robin), brother Jesse C. of Somerset, Arthur C. Furtado, Irene and Anna Furtado all of Fall River and Emily Cordeiro. He was the brother of the late Joseph C., Manuel C., Rose and Horandina Furtado and Mary Mello. John was the grandfather of John R. Furtado. (wife Cassandra) of Taunton and Joshua Furtado (wife Ashley) of Berkley. He was the great grandfather of John R. Furtado Jr. and Austin Furtado of Taunton and Chace Peter Furtado of Berkley. He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River FRIDAY at 9 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours THURSDAY 4-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com
