New Bedford - Michael Joseph McGann died Thursday August 5 2004 at St Lukes Hospital.. He was the husband of Maeguerita ( Colville) McGann., and son of the late Marie (Sheehan) and Michael McGann.He was born in New Bedford, Mass.
Mr McGann served in the Military for 32+ yrs, 1st with the Army in WWII from 1942 - 1945, than with the Army Reserve from 1950 - 1978 , he was placed on the retired list October 8, 1978 as a Chief Warrant Officer.He was also with the 483 Engineering Battallion at Fort Rodman, MA. during his time with the Military. Mr. McGann was a Wholesale Route Salesman for H.P. Hood & Sons. He graduated from Boston Trade School in Printing in June of 1936.
Survivors include his Daughter Brenda and her husband William Boyer of Fairhaven, a son Paul J. and his wife Cynthia McGann of Indianapolis, Indiana. 4 Grandchildren; John A. Amado Jr., Lisa M. Bertram, Paul M. McGann, and Evan M. Boyer.1 Great-grandson Preston J. Bertram.
Mr. McGann funeral will be Saturday August 7, 2004 at St. Mary's Church Fairhaven at 11:00 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial. In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated.
