Augusta, GA---Mr. David Michael “Mike” Amerson, 58, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Westwood Nursing Facility.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am tomorrow Wednesday, April 24, 2013 in the Platt’s Crawford Avenue Chapel with Dr. Mark Sterling officiating. Interment will follow at West View Cemetery.
Mike was born September 14, 1954 in Augusta, Georgia. He graduated from Westside High School in the class of 1973. He then attended Augusta Tech, completing courses in Electrical Engineering. He received from the University of Georgia, a Certificate of Local Government Management. He also completed several Traffic Engineering courses, while employed with the City of Augusta/Richmond County, which included Augusta Management Development Program, levels one, two and three. He retired from the City of Augusta/Richmond County as a Supervisor, in the Traffic Engineering Department, following 35 years of service. He was a member of Curtis Baptist Church.
He is survived by his parents, Bill and Joann Amerson of Augusta, Georgia.
The family will receive friends this evening, Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Platt’s Crawford Avenue.
Pallbearers will be Chad Clifton, Marion Clifton, Bob Phillips, Charlie Rhoades, Steve Rogers and Don Tyre.
