KIRKWOOD - Richard A. Kirkwood, 51, of New Market, TN, formerly of Callahan, FL passed away Sunday morning, April 21, 2013 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was born August 6, 1961 in Columbus, OH and moved to Tennessee four years ago from Callahan.
Mr. Kirkwood was always there to help anyone in need. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. He loved trains and the Tennessee mountains.
He was predeceased by his son, Nathan Allen Kirkwood who passed away in 2006.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Patricia A. Kirkwood of New Market, TN; his mother and father, William and Bonnie Kirkwood of Live Oak, FL; his father and mother in law, Lewis and Jennie Feller of Jacksonville, FL; five brothers, Keith Kirkwood of Middleburg, FL, Robert Kirkwood ( Amanda) of Hilliard, FL; Steve Kirkwood of Fernandina Beach, FL, John Kirkwood (Melody) of Hilliard, FL and David Kirkwood (Breann) of Callahan, FL; three sisters, Wanda Simmons (Karl) of Callahan, FL, Cheryl Hayes (Milton) of Jacksonville, FL and Becky Holloway (Ray) of Lake City, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, at Green Pine Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Green Pine Funeral Home.
