SALEM - Calliope “Callie” Taloumis, 90 of Peabody, died Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with close friends by her side.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Regina (Callichy) Taloumis. She attended Salem schools and was a graduate of Tufts University and the Management Course in Personnel Administration at Radcliffe College.
Prior to her retirement, Callie was employed as the personnel director at the former Lynn Hospital for over 30 years. She was previously employed as the personnel director at the Lying-In Hospital in Boston. She resided in Nahant for 40 years before returning to Salem where she lived until recently moving to Peabody.
Callie leaves no immediate family and was predeceased by one sister, Cleo Taloumis and two brothers, Christopher Taloumis and George Taloumis. She leaves close friends, including the Quinn family of Nahant and the Exarhos family of Peabody.
Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 11 am at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. A visitation will be held Wednesday from 9 to 11 AM, prior to the services. Committal services are private.
