Obituary

Jeannette D. L’Esperance, 89, formerly of Park Place, Woonsocket died Friday evening at The Friendly Home. She was the wife of the late Roma A. L’Esperance.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Lillian (Allard) Landry. She was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mrs. L’Esperance was employed at the Manville Jenckes and French Worsted mills and later worked at Kilnic Co. Inc. for many years before retiring in 1977.
She was a member of the Royal Travelers, and the Holy Family and St. Louis Sr. citizens groups.
Jeannette loved dancing and enjoyed bingo, crocheting and bowling. She could bring a smile to anyone’s face.
Jeannette is survived by a son Normand L’Esperance, and his wife Esther, of California, a daughter Lillian Gouin, and her husband Frank, of Woonsocket. She was the sister of the late Ovila and Aldor Landry, Cora Pearson and Violet Armstrong. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kathy Antetomaso, Edward Gouin, Pauline Giguere, Victoria Smith, Brian and Melinda L’Esperance, Yvonne Beloso and Nathan Jeffery, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be Tuesday at 10:00 am in the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Visiting hours are Monday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105, or the Sunshine Fund at The Friendly Home, 303 Rhodes Ave., Woonsocket.
