Mavis Louise Ellis, 84, of Bridgewater, formerly of Plymouth, died at home on April 18. Mavis was born in Falmouth the daughter of George and Myrtle (Woodbury) Ellis. She grew up in Plymouth and attended Plymouth Schools. Mavis lived in Plymouth for most of her life. She worked for many families cleaning the homes and caring for their children. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plymouth and belonged to the Women’s Guild at the Church. Mavis was a Sunday School Teacher at the church for over 40 years. Mavis leaves many cousins and close friends.
A funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church on Monday April 22 at 1:00 PM. Friends and family may call at the Horton home 11 Center St. Carver MA. for visitation Friday April 19 after 6:00 PM and on Saturday April 20 and Sunday April 21. Burial will be in the Vine Hills Cemetery Plymouth. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to The First Baptist Church, 41 Westerly Road, Plymouth, MA 02360.
