Rev. Sarah Loretta Dooley Arnold, 79, of Tifton died Thursday, April 18, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, 2013, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Dr. Danny Ray will officiate with burial to follow in Lenox Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Chris Motley and Harve Woitel. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 20, 2013, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Rev. Arnold was born on September 5, 1933 in Piedmont (Calhoun County), Alabama and was the daughter of Rev. Jim Benson Dooley and Sarah Clyde Lyles Whisenant, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her step-mother, Ollie Jane Fordham Dooley and a sister. In addition to being a minister of the Gospel, Rev. Arnold was a homemaker and a retired registered nurse. She enjoyed giving her testimony at various churches through the years and was a member of Omega Church of God. She raised exotic birds and owned the Birds Garden.
Rev. Arnold is survived by her husband of 62 years, Matthew Arnold of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Betty Arnold of Alapaha; one daughter, Teresa Arnold of Powder Springs; four grandchildren, Stacey Woitel, Christie Griffin, April Arnold and Mary Scarborough; four great-grandchildren, David Scarborough, Aden Scarborough, Eden Scarborough and Caitlyn Woitel; and one brother.
