Kaplan, Edward E., 88 years of age. Died peacefully Saturday, April 13, 2013 with his family at his side. Edward was of Malden, Saugus and Nevada for many years. Educated in Malden Schools, Class of 1942. He later went on to further his studies at Northeastern University. Edward was the owner and founder of GEM Auto Parts Co. in Chelsea. Member of Moses Michael Hay’s Lodge A.F. & A.M., Newton Centre, Jewish War Veterans Malden Post 74. Served in the US Army during WWII.
Edward was the beloved husband of Eleanor (Schreter) Kaplan. Devoted father of Joel Kaplan and wife Debra, Michael Kaplan and wife Teresa, and Jana Kaplan and wife Janet. Loving son of the late Jesse Kaplan and Emma (Zarren) Kapan. Dear brother of the late William Kaplan and the late Morton Kaplan. Loving grandfather of Emily, Jonathan, Jesse, Sarah and Sean. Cherished great-grandfather of Grace, Benjamin and Eliza. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, April 17 from 4-7PM at the Torf Funeral Chapel 151 Washington Avenue, Cary Sq, Chelsea, MA. All are welcome.
