Obituary

Peter Howard Hannon, 58, of Humarock, passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2013. Peter was an amazingly talented man, mastering interests from playing guitar, to photography, to jewelry design and computers. His photographs of Humarock, Scituate and Marshfield were sold in galleries and shops across the area and bring memories of the beach to people around the country. The former owner of the Humarock Cheesecake Company/Cheesecakes Etc., his friends and family will miss his kitchen experiments, which could range from incredible main dishes to delectable desserts – and were always a success.
Peter’s careers followed his interests and talents. He most recently worked at Deer Hill Elementary School in Cohasset, where coworkers will miss his hard work and friendly smile. He also worked as manager of AAA Appliance Sales in Hanover, manager of several Off-Track Bedding stores on the South Shore, and was store manager at Fretter in Hanover. Peter also worked as a repair tech at Friden Alcatel, and as a Relator for Mass Bay Associates in Marshfield. He started his long career path shortly after high school with Boston Whaler.
A 1973 graduate of North Quincy High School, Peter also attended U Mass-Amherst. He was the son of the late John and Priscilla Hannon of Quincy and Humarock. He was the brother of Denise (Hannon) Robbins of Raynham and her husband Christopher Robbins. Fun-loving uncle of Cynthia (Robbins) Shah-Khan and her husband, Mujeeb Shah-Khan, of Greensboro, NC, and Nicole (Robbins) McLaughlin and her husband, John McLaughlin, of West Warwick, RI. Devoted great-uncle of Zain Shah-Khan of Greensboro, NC and Aoife McLaughlin of West Warwick, RI. Beloved cousin of Kathie (Hannon) Aubert and her husband, Jim Aubert, of Pembroke, and their four daughters, Molly, Noelle, Dana and Haley. Cherished close friend of Betty Kinch of Whitman and her daughter, Jessica (Kinch) Arruda of Fairhaven and her family. Peter will be remembered and missed by many close friends and loved ones in Humarock and the surrounding area, including Chris, Sharon, Zac and Jacqui Perfetti, and Debbie and Samantha Dallaire.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visiting hours on Saturday April 20 from 1-3 PM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Friends and family will celebrate his life in the funeral home at 3 PM on Saturday.
