Obituary

RAYNHAM – Joseph P. Lavallee, Sr., following a struggle with cancer, passed away on Friday, April 12, 2013.
He passed peacefully in his home in Raynham, in the presence of family members.
He was 74.
Born in Paterson, NJ, he was the son of the late Paul E. Lavallee, Sr. and Eleanor A. (Duhamel) Lavallee.
Raised in Rehoboth, he was a 1956 graduate of Taunton High School.
Mr. Lavallee served in the U.S. Army for 24 years, retiring as a recruiter with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1995.
He also owned and operated Accounting Procedures for over 35 years.
Joe was an avid follower of all the New England sports teams, a member of the American Legion Post 405 of Raynham, and life member of the Mitchell Club of Middleboro.
Survivors include his former wife, Barbara Ann (Tremblay) Lavallee of Raynham; two sons, Joseph P. Lavallee of Taipei, Taiwan and James K. Lavallee of Raynham; a daughter, Jennifer L. (Lavallee) Martin of Warwick, RI; a great aunt, Betty Dicristofaro of Florida; a brother, Paul E. Lavallee of Florida; two sisters, Claire Stevens of Rehoboth and Elaine Bergeron of Dighton; two grandchildren, Ryan M. and Carly A. Martin, both of Warwick; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Janet Nelson.
Finally, he leaves behind his ever faithful dog, Billy.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway at St. Mary’s Square, Taunton on Saturday, April 20th from 3 to 6 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
