Obituary

WOBURN: Julie Ann (Freeman) Raynes, 50, formerly of Beverly, died suddenly on April 14, 2013 in her home in Woburn. She was the wife of the late John R. Raynes, who died in February of 2003.
Born in Beverly on July 13, 1962, she was the daughter of Geraldine P. “Geri” (Walsh) Freeman and the late Thomas A. Freeman.
Julie worked her entire life in the medical field as a medical assistant, secretary and office manager. She was a loving caretaker of the elderly and held many a feeble hand throughout long nights. Nature filled her with wonder, she had a great love of animals and they loved her in return. Julie was an avid knitter and reader; she was loved for her great sense of humor and her delicious cookies.
She is survived by her two sons, Thomas John Raynes and Daniel David Raynes, both of Salem; sister, Jayne Mello and her husband, John of Beverly; brother, David Freeman and his wife, Susan and their children, Kaitlyn and Jason of Stratham, NH; and stepfather, Tom Mangone of Florida.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to Sweet Paws Rescue, 182 Southern Avenue, Essex, MA 01929 (www.sweetpawsrescue.org/donate).
