Obituary

WEBSTER – Stasia C. Gontowski, 93, passed away on April 13, 2013 at the Lanessa Extended Care Facility after a period of declining health. She was born on January 10, 1920, in New Britain CT to the late Frank and Mary (Dombrowski) Marcinczyk.
Stasia lived most of her life in Webster and was a homemaker. Stasia’s hobbies included gardening, sewing, crocheting and basking. She was well known in Webster for her love of garage sales and she and her husband spent many weekends first in line, looking for great bargains.
Mrs. Gontowski was a member of Saint Joseph Basilica.
Mrs. Gontowski’s husband of 74 years passed away in February of 2012. She is survived by her daughter, Carole (Allard) Holley and her husband Paul of Waleska, Georgia; and her son, Walter S. Gontowski, Jr. and his wife Rose-Marie of Prescott, Arizona. She is also survived by her sister, Anita Cichowski of Dudley and her brother, Henry Marcinczyk of Webster; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a great great-grandson; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her brother Frank Marcinczyk, Jr.; her sisters, Helen (Richards) Braleski, Viola Daigneau, Stephanie Hodges and Mary (Hetu) Vosberg, as well as her son-in-law Alfred Allard.
The funeral will be held Saturday, April 20, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass at 1:00 PM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street. Burial will be in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace. A calling period will be from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM Saturday in the funeral home.
