Barbara Marie Clay was born on Jan 8, 1933 in Everett, MA. Her family moved to the Linden section of Malden and lived at 69 Hancock Rd. for most of her childhood.

Barbara was the second of three children born to Francis X. "Bumpy" Clay and Mary (Lyons) Clay. Barbara attended Linden Elementary School , Browne Jr. High and went on to graduate from Malden High School in 1951. She married Dennis John "Danny" Frauton in 1953 and settled in Malden for the next 22 years. Barbara was employed throughout her adult life. Her employers included Transitron in Melrose, MA, American Mutual Insurance Company in Wakefield, MA, the Flatley Company in Malden and Marlborough, MA. She was employed for the remaining 16 years of her career with Trav Corps in Malden, a traveling nurse location service, where she retired in 1998 at age 65.

Barbara had many friends from her school years and throughout her working life, many of which remain friends to this day. During their married years from 1953 – 1978, Barbara and Danny enjoyed square dancing for many years as members of the Yankee Twirlers. Barbara took great pride in making hers and Danny’s square dance apparel from scratch.

Barbara and Danny enjoyed vacationing with family and friends at Lakeshore Park on Lake Winnipesaukee in Guilford, NH. This quickly became a family tradition during the 1960’s.

Barbara loved to entertain and would often host weekend parties on Mountain Avenue with several of her friends and their spouses. Barbara would later enjoy dancing with friends at the Wonderland Ballroom in Revere and was an active member of the Malden Rotary Club and Junior Aide.
