Augusta, GA---Mrs. Roseann Hudson entered into rest on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at University Hospital. She spent her final days surrounded by her family, an appropriate representation of the life she led.
A celebration of life graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm today Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Magnolia Cemetery with Reverend Bob Hoeller officiating.
A southern belle, Roseann was a feisty, spirited, true beauty who always put her family first. She was born March 30, 1924, to Selwyn and Frances Hallman in Augusta. She was married in 1942 to Marion F. Hudson, Jr. at the age of 18 and began her family shortly after. Roseann was a passionate mother, who filled her home with tradition and family stories. A strong independent woman, Roseann graduated from Augusta College in 1974, at the age of 50, receiving her degree as a Registered Nurse. She continued her caring nature, by nursing at both St. Joseph and University Hospital. She was a member of the Martinez United Methodist Church and the McDonald Bible Class.
Roseann will always be remembered for her storytelling. She shared her life and experiences with her 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and her legacy will be passed on for generations to come.
Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband, Marion, her first born, Bonnie Hudson and her son, Marion “Rocky” Hudson III.
Survivors other than her grandchildren and great grandchildren include her daughter, Shannon Gurley (Raymond), son, Dr. David S. Hudson (Vicky) and daughter in law, Vera Hudson.
