Obituary

MARLBOROUGH: John Edward Haynes, 73, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the Marlborough Hospital after being stricken at his residence.
He was born in Marlborough on October 30, 1939 the son of the late Buck Haynes and Hazel (Scally) Haynes.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Kathleen A. (Marshall) Haynes of Marlborough. Loving father of Jennifer A. Haynes and Michael E. Haynes both of Marlborough. John was the brother of Richard L. Haynes of Shreveport, LA; Wayne Spiller of Chamberlain, ME; Jane Jurgeleit of Bolton and the late Paula Auckenthaler. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
John spent his formative years in Wayland and graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1957. He served his country proudly as a BT3 with the United States Navy during the Bay of Pigs.
He retired after 42 years as a dedicated Postal Carrier for the United States Postal Service at the Wayland Branch. For 30 years, he served as a bartender for the Dudley Chateau of Cochituate. John enjoyed his vegetable garden and was devoted to his family who was the center of his life.
Memorial Visitations will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2013 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm in the Bryant Memorial Chapel of the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Private family interment will be held at the Haynes family lot in Evergreen Cemetery in Marlborough.
