Rev. Eddie Elrod, 47 of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Monday, August 2, 2004, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 4, 2004, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with Alex Diakogiannis, Steve Griffin and Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 until 9:00, Tuesday evening.
Rev. Elrod was born June 18, 1957, in Gadsden, Alabama to the late Richard Elrod and June Bradford Nunn. He lived in the community most of his life. Rev. Elrod was the Pastor of Babbs Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hawkinsville, Georgia, a former Pastor at the Church of Unity, Taft Lane Baptist Church and was a former truck driver for Delco-Remy Battery Company.
Rev. Elrod is survived by his wife: Dorothy S. Elrod, Fitzgerald; children: Rebecca Elrod Harper, Fitzgerald, Lee Elrod, Fitzgerald, Brent Howell, Lilly, GA, Leslie Richardson, Fitzgerald, Angel Flinchum, Fitzgerald, Leslie Flinchum, Fitzgerald; three grandchildren; brother and sister: Ricky Elrod, and Pam Williamson, both of Fitzgerald; step-father: Bill Nunn, Fitzgerald.
