Mary E. Harney, 60

Dateline: Norton, MA

Mary E. Harney, age 60, of Norton, formerly of Roslindale passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 surrounded by her loving family, in the comfort of her sister’s home in Mansfield.
Born in Boston, MA on October 30, 1952, she was a dear daughter of the late John W. and Leona M. (Kostigen) Harney.
Mary grew up in the Roslindale section of Boston. She was educated in Sacred Heart Schools and was a graduate of St. Clare High School. She continued her education and was also a graduate of Boston State College.
For over five years, she had worked as an Assistant Manager for Marshall’s in Quincy and Braintree. She also enjoyed working part time at Alberto’s Pub & Pizza in Norton and had originally began her career in teaching.
Mary had made her home in Norton for over 10 years and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. Her interests included reading, traveling, times spent at the beach and being in the presence of her loving family, especially with her nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her devoted sisters and brothers, Barbara A. Rea of Mansfield, John M. Harney and his wife Kathleen of Mansfield, Robert E. Harney and his wife Deborah of Mansfield, Helen M. Campbell and her husband Mark of Mansfield, and Michael J. Harney and his wife Laura of Easton. She is also survived by her many cherished nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Saturday, April 13th at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 12th from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
