STOUGHTON - Dorothy J. (Whitaker) Hermanson, wife of the late Erle L. Hermanson, died at the Blue Hills Alzheimer’s Care Center of Stoughton on April 9, 2013.
She was 87.
Born in East Providence, “Dottie” grew up on Lincoln St. in Seekonk, the daughter of the late William J. and Mabel B. (Dyson) Whitaker.
Educated in Seekonk and E. Providence schools, she was a 1943 graduate of East Providence High School.
A retired secretary, Mrs. Hermanson was employed by MUPAC in Brockton for several years, retiring in 1993.
Survivors include a son, Erle L. Hermanson, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Middleboro; two daughters, Carol A. Durden and her husband Hank of Brockton and Diane L. Richardson of Raynham; a brother, William J. Whitaker, Jr. of Ocala, FL; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late James S. and Robert D. Whitaker.
Funeral Services will be held at the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, April 13th at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 12th from 5 to 8 p.m.
