Merle C. Fowler, 82, of Fitzgerald, died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home in Ocilla.
Memorial services will be private.
Ms. Fowler was born March 24, 1931, in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Luther Thomas & Eva Ruth Hawkins Fowler. She attended high school in Jacksonville, Florida and received her nurses training in New Orleans. Ms. Fowler worked in the medical field and had lived in Fitzgerald since 1986, coming from Rochelle. She was a member of Arbor Baptist Church.
She is survived by one sister: Sybil & Olen Campbell of Keystone Heights, Florida and two brothers: Darrell & Rachel Fowler and Neil & Jean Fowler, all of Middleburg, Florida. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
