Paulo F. Xavier, aged 56 years, died unexpectedly Friday, April 5th, 2013 in New Bedford. He was born in Ribeira Quente, São Miguel, Açores, Portugal, the son of the late Maria daConceicao (Oliveira) and Manuel dos Santos Xavier. He immigrated to this country in 1968 and worked, formerly, as a Fish Cutter at Tichon Seafood Company.
Mr. Xavier’s family includes his two sisters: Ana Melo and her husband Joao of Dartmouth, and Maria C. Furtado of New Bedford, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Paulo is predeceased by his brothers, Jose M. and Leonardo Xavier.
In accordance with his wishes, Paulo was cremated. Visiting hours with his cremains present will be at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. on Sunday from 6-8P.M. A religious service will be held at 7:30 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family and will be greatly appreciated.
