Charles W. Jordan, 81, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at his residence.
Memorial services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the home of Mr. Jordan, 128 Irwinville Highway. Private burial will be held in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Jordan was born June 4, 1931, in Fitzgerald, Georgia to the late Alexander Stephens & Wilma Alice Wheeles Jordan. He attended school in Fitzgerald and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War Era. He was a retired steel worker for McLouth Steel and served as local chairman of the steel workers union. He returned to Fitzgerald 20 years ago. Mr. Jordan loved to fish and be outdoors.
He is survived by his siblings: Elsie (John) Wiggins of Fitzgerald, Barbara (Ron) Randolph of Summerfield, Florida, and John H. (Carolyn) Jordan of Fitzgerald. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Anna Viola Virginack Jordan.
