JAMES A. RUSSELL, 87, passed away on April 5, 2013 at the Hosparus Inpatient Unit. He was the owner and operator of the old Iroquois Realty Co., former property manager for Kosair Charities and their Eastern Parkway campus, a former board member of Kosair Charities and a former member of the board of directors for Kosair Childrens Hospital. Jim was the past master of the old Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge, a member of the Valley of Louisville Scottish Rite and past Potentate of Kosair Shrine Temple. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Carrie Russell; brothers, John Jr., Allen and Theodore Russell; and sisters, Mildred Heyser and Dorothy Kapp. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary (Patton) Russell; his daughter, Diana Ragsdale and her husband Terry. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with entombment in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be from 1 – 8 p.m. Monday.
