Obituary

Ruth Sullivan Ryan of Cambridge passed away on Wednesday April 3. She was 73.
Daughter of the late Daniel P. Sullivan and Ruth (Nally) Sullivan, she grew up in West Roxbury, Massachusetts. She graduated from Notre Dame Academy, in Roxbury, in 1957 and Boston College 1961. She worked as an elementary school teacher and later co-owed a graphic design business. In 1982 she co-founded NOAH, the National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation, a national non-profit organization that provides information and support for people with albinism and their families. Artistically talented and a lefty, she was know for her beautiful handwriting.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Daniel P. Sullivan, Jr. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lisa (Lee Ryan) Laughlin and her husband, Tim, and their two children of Loudon, New Hampshire; as well as her sister, Joanne Scannell, and her husband, Jerry, of Harwichport, MA, and a large extended family.

A calling hour will be held at the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home on Saturday April 20, 2013 at 9 a.m. A Memorial Service will follow, with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
