Methuen – Joyce A. Wilson, 64, of Methuen, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Brighton.
Joyce, daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (Gillett) Wilson, was born in Lawrence on August 30, 1948. She was a graduate of Tenney High School and completed her LPN education at the Greater Lawrence Vocational Technical School. She was employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse with Bon Secours, later Holy Family Hospital, for 45 years until her retirement in 2013. Music was an important part of her life, and she belonged to several local musical organizations, most significantly The Valley Singers. She also enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach.
Joyce will be deeply missed by her niece, Colleen Heafey, of Methuen; nephew, Brian Heafey and his wife Kathy, of Derry, NH and their children, Ashley, PJ, and Dillon; brother-in-law, Richard Heafey, of Salem, NH; and many close friends. She was predeceased by her sisters, Marilyn Wilson and Janet Heafey.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Joyce’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the KENNETH H. POLLARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen on Sunday from 2-6 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen on Monday at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery.
