Obituary

Sr. Claire Rheaume, PM (Sr. Louis de Notre Dame), 93, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, died April 3, 2013 at St. Joseph Residence in Manchester.
She was born in Berlin on November 14, 1919 to Louis and Celanire (Morin) Rheaume. She entered the Order of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Canada in 1938, made her first profession in 1941 and her final profession in 1946.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Providence College in Providence, RI.
Sr. Claire was a zealous elementary and high school teacher in parochial schools in Rhode Island at Phoenix and Woonsocket; and at high schools in New Hampshire at Notre Dame in Berlin and St. Marie in Manchester.
She later ministered in the Philippine Islands for 46 years and returned in 2000 where she retired to St. Joseph Residence.
The family includes two nieces, Martha Belanger of Berlin and Clemence Simard of Shelburne; a nephew, Brother Claude Rheaume of the LaSalette Shrine in Enfield; and cousins, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, April 5, 2013 in the Resurrection Chapel of St. Marie Residence, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester. Burial was in Presentation of Mary Cemetery in Hudson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary Retirement Fund.
