Margaret L. (Malloy) Higgins, 84, of Medway died April 2 in the Medway Country Manor surrounded by her family in her final days. She was the wife of the late Henry Higgins who died in 1970.
Born in Milford, April 22, 1928, the daughter of the late Daniel and Henrietta (Buckley) Malloy, Mrs. Higgins was a lifelong Medway resident.
Mrs. Higgins was a graduate of Medway High School, Class of 1946 and attended the Fay School of Boston.
Mrs. Higgins had been a secretary for the Medway Public Schools for many years.
She had previously worked the Kenney & Maciolek Law Firm.
Mrs. Higgins had been a member of the Catholic Daughters and a CCD teacher at St. Joseph’s where she had also been a Eucharistic Minister. She had also been secretary to St. Joseph’s parish council and secretary for the Medway Friends of Elders.
Margaret had been an avid reader.
She is survived by her children, Lance P. Higgins of Medway, Thomas J. Higgins of Brighton, David D. Higgins of Milford, and Jane F. Higgins-Greene and her husband Brian of Medway.
She was the mother of the late Francis D. Higgins and John F. Higgins.
She was the sister of Irene Henault of Medway and the late Joseph D. Malloy. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kathryn, Brandon and James Greene.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday April 6 from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) 3 Barber Street Medway at 12:30 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church at 1:30 p.m.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 4-8 p.m.
