Obituary

Mary E. (Prendergast) McNamara, 80, of Quincy passed away Saturday 31 July, 2004 after a brief illness.

She was the beloved spouse of James F. McNamara for 57 years. She was born in Beverly MA and was the daughter of the late Thomas J. and Mary E. Prendergast.

A registered nurse, she was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School, Roxbury and of St. Margaret's School of Nursing, Dorchester MA. She was very active in St. Ann's Parish in Wollaston, having volunteered for over 30 years as a member of the Parish's Altar Society, Legion of Mary and as a reading tutor at the parish school. She was also a Eucharistic Minister to the patients at Quincy Medical Center.

In addition to her husband James, she is survived by 11 children and their spouses: James T. and Susan McNamara of Norwell; Patricia A. McNamara and Chen Chang of Larchmont, New York; Fr. Michael J. McNamara of Scituate; Mary E. McNamara and Robert A. Perry of Milton; Kathleen M. McNamara and Paul W. Keohan of Duxbury; Brian E. and Maria McNamara of Watertown; Christine L. McNamara-Jaehnig and Mark Jaehnig of Quincy; Thomas V. and Jeanette McNamara of Weymouth; Stephen P. McNamara of Wakefield; Theresa J. McNamara and Dorando Saccente of Ossining, New York; and Kevin F. McNamara of Boston.

She is also survived by 22 grandchildren: James P; Beth C.; Daniel J. McNamara of Norwell; Wen-Chi, Wen-Kang, Wen-Wei and Wen-Yuan Chang of New York; Elisa A., Philip A., and Christiane M. Perry of Milton; Nicholas M. and Catherine M. (Casey) Keohan of Duxbury; Tracey B. and Richard J. McNamara of Watertown; Patrick M., David M., Matthew M., and Andrew M. Jaehnig of Quincy; Nicole E., Kellie J. and Courtney J. McNamara of Weymouth; and Sophia L. Saccente of Ossining New York.

She was the beloved sister of: Catherine and Joseph Prendergast of Boston; Patricia and the late Fredrick Brady of Canton; Sr. Anne Prendergast of Quincy. Loving sister in law of Thomas J. and the late Louise McNamara of Quincy.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home 785 Hancock St. , WOLLASTON Wednesday at 9 AM.

Funeral Mass in Saint Ann's Church, Wollaston at 10 AM.

Visiting hours Monday 7-9 and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
