Jones, Elmer Otis, 88, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Kindred Hospital. He was born in Round Hill, KY., to Elmer Joab & Gracie (Hack) Jones. Otis was a retired Millwright with 37 years service at International Havester. He was one of the first to be hired at the plant. He was a member of Shively Heights Baptist Church and was a WW II Army Veteran, having served with the Army Engineers, and was awarded 5 Bronze Stars. Otis was preceded in death by his loving Wife of 41 years, Norma (Likens) Jones; a Son, Robert Jones; his Parents; a Brother, William Jones and a Sister, Ethel Elmore. Survivors include his children, Ronald Jones (Tammy) and Deborah Bartsch (Ed); 6 Grandchildren, 1 Great Granddaughter; 2 Brothers, Bernie Ray Jones (Joyce), Bruce Jones and 2 Sisters, Helen Johnson & Lucille Taylor. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy., with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be Thursday 2 - 8 PM and Friday 9 - 1 PM.
