Obituary

Philip A. Vautrain, 88, of Chicopee, Massachusetts, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at Palemon Gaskins Memorial Nursing Home in Ocilla, Georgia.

Funeral services will be private.

Mr. Vautrain was born November 10, 1924 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to the late Charles Edward and Mary Christian Vautrain. He graduated from Holyoke High School and received a bachelor’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. He was owner and operator of Hain Automation in Wallingford, Connecticut, a firm that manufactured electrical control panels for various industries. He was an avid photographer and he loved to deep-sea fish and play golf. Mr. Vautrain was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. For the past four months, he convalesced in Ocilla to be near his daughter, Pamela.

He is survived by two daughters: Pamela Mayberry of Fitzgerald and Laura (Ted) Risher of Issaquah, Washington; brother: Edward Vautrain of Massachusetts and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests those desiring to send memorials may send them to the Alzheimer’s Association, SW Georgia Regional Office, 100 Central Ave. S., Tifton, Georgia 31794.
