Elizabeth A. (Hayes) Tetrault, 59 of Georgetown, “Sailed past the sunset” on Monday, April 1, 2013, at home after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Tom Tetrault and daughter of Anne (Burke) Hayes and the late Henry ‘Bud’ Hayes.
After graduation from Danvers High School and Regis College she pursued her career as a foreign language and social studies teacher at the middle school level, retiring from Lynnfield in 2010.
As a teacher ‘Mrs. T’ loved to entwine foreign languages, culture and politics. She encouraged students to search their ancestry and contact their oldest relatives to retain the original culture and traditions of their family. Her fondest memories were of summers on Long Beach in Rockport and sailing along the New England coast with her husband and children on Facet.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her two children and their spouses, Matthew and Amie Tetrault of Hobe Sound, Florida and Aimee and Sam Mishkin of Boulder, Colorado. One sister, Mary Alice Maher and her husband Robert of Byfield.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. to be followed by her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 10:30 A.M. Visiting hours at the funeral home will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Burial at a later date will be private.
