Mrs. Helen C. Gregory, of Woburn formerly of Reading and Somerville passed away peacefully in her home on March 28th, with her loving family by her side. She was 85. Helen was the beloved wife of the late Albert Gregory and together they shared 64 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2009. Helen was born and raised in Theta, TN and was the daughter of the late James C. and Izora (Hays) Harbison.
Helen worked for many years as an operator for the New England Telephone Co. before her retirement. Mostly devoted to her family she enjoyed traveling and taking cruise vacations, she loved gardening and cooking. However, her greatest joy came from her family and especially her time with her cherished grandchildren. Helen was always tying to help others and often putting their needs before her own. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
Helen is survived by her children, Nancy Lynch of Woburn and James Gregory and his wife Janine of Woburn. She was the loving grandmother of Pamela LaVita, Mark, Kevin and Brian Lynch, Marissa and Sophia Gregory and is also survived by eleven great grandchildren.
Along with her husband and parents, Helen is predeceased by her son-in-law, the late Harvey Lynch, sister, the late Mary Hudgens, and Brothers, the late James and Robert Harbison.
A funeral service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, on Wednesday, April 3rd, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Tuesday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
