Obituary

Mrs. Michelina "Mildred" C. Lopilato, age 85 of Medford MA., died Monday, March 25 in Winchester Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Angelo Lopilato and the longtime companion of the late Mario Ferrara.
Mrs. Lopilato was born in St. Elizabeth Hospital in 1927, daughter of the late Francesco and Concetta (Vavoso) Parrotta. She spent her childhood years in Chelsea and later moved to Maine where she was a graduate of Lewiston High School, class of 1945. She has been a resident of Medford since 1949.
For many years , Mildred worked as a clerk for a public finance company in Boston. She also worked for Prudential and the Medford Public School System. A more recent employee of the Town of Arlington, she retired in 1991 and became a member of the Greater Boston Association of Retarded Citizens (GBARC) and also served on the Board of Directors of the Hegner Center in Medford.
Mildred enjoyed many summers with her family as an active member of the Medford Boat Club. She loved to garden at home and was an accomplished square dancer.
She is survived by a son Ralph Lopilato and his wife Charlotte of Delaware, two daughters: Anne Mari Gordon and her husband Francis of Winchester, Dianna Lopilato of Wakefield. She is the loving grandmother of Lindsay, Andrew and Kelly.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main Street Medford on Tuesday at 9:00 am. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 pm. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Those who prefer may make donations in Mildred's name to Bridgewell Development and Advancement Office, 471 Broadway, Lynnfield, MA 01940.
