Obituary

LAWRENCE – Joseph A. Veilleux, 85 of Lawrence, MA passed away peacefully on Monday March 25, 2013 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Born and educated in Lawrence, MA, Joseph was the son of Alfred and Mary (Sweder) Veilleux and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. Joseph was employed as a machinist with Omega Engineering before his retirement.

Joseph was a member for over 50 years of the Northshore and Klaxon Antique Car Club, the American Model and Radio Controlled Model Air Plane Club, was an avid motorcycle rider, taking his last ride on his 80th birthday. Most important to Joseph was spending time with his family.

He leaves his wife of almost 60 years, Sophie L. (Smulski) Veilleux of Lawrence, MA and is survived by his children; Thomas J. Veilleux of Salisbury, MA, Mary Anna Young and her husband William of Newburyport, MA, James J. Veilleux and his wife Julie of Peach Tree City, GA, Jean LaRue and her husband Douglas of Rapid City, SD, Paul J. Veilleux of Raymond, NH, Philip J. Veilleux of Lawrence, MA, Anne Williams and her husband Charles of Hingham, MA and Michele Holland and her husband Jerome of Londonderry, NH
16 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Memorials can be made to a Charity of One’s Choice. Visiting hours for family and friends will be held on Monday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9:00a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence, with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemtery also in Lawrence, MA.
